Lincoln Nebraska Bakery |S’more Cake | Adalyn’s Smash Cake

At S’more Cake, a Lincoln Nebraska Bakery, we designed the cake for our grand daughter’s smash cake. She lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her older sister, Allie, and their parents, Alex and Nicolette Dixon. We love our delicious carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, which was one of the tiers in her parent’s wedding cake, so we were sure that this was the cake for Adalyn. We were all very curious to see if she would like this new taste of food, ….sugar! She is a very good vegetable eater, but hasn’t had much experience with sweets. It was a 7 inch, two layer cake filled with the cream cheese and designed with the rose pattern detail, so she could play with the frosting as she liked.

Her mommy, Niki, was the photographer for the photo shoot she had planned for this event. We set up the tipi in an area of the park near her home, timed it close to sundown, so that there would be the best lighting for the photograph. It was so beautiful with all the rich autumn leaves and trees. We were all set up and watching to see her reaction to the cake, however, she was somewhat bewildered and didn’t enjoy the situation right away. With big sister’s help and music from mommy’s phone, she soon began to enjoy the birthday treat!

I love how perfect these photographs are and they are a wonderful memory of the great time we had together!
